Dedicated to make the practice of boating safe and enjoyable and conscientious of protecting the environment, a nautical patrol is present on our lakes during the summer.

Our enforcement officers have all powers necessary to implement the regulations under the Shipping Act of Canada and the laws on access to the lakes.

Compulsory equipment on board includes:

  • 1 approved and properly sized lifejacket (yellow, red or orange) or PFD (personal floatation device) for each person on board.
  • A floating line and a reboarding device on board.
  • 1 Class 5BC fire extinguisher if vessel has an inboard engine or a fixed fuel tank or a fuel-burning heater, stove, or refrigerator.
  • Sound signalling device. (horn or whistle)
  • A paddle or an anchor with rope. 
  • 1 watertight flashlight.
  • Your pleasure craft licence.
  • 1 bailer or manual pump with enough hose to pump water overboard.
